The Complete Guide to ETF Portfolio Management (McGraw Hill)
"With more than $5.5 trillion in assets and growing fast, Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) are on track to surpass mutual funds in value within the next five years. And with more liquidity, better tax efficiencies, and lower costs than mutual funds, they’re clearly the investment vehicle of choice for the foreseeable future. But managing an ETF is a completely different process than managing a mutual fund, 401(k) program, or private portfolio of assets—and understanding all the ins and outs will make the difference between success and failure.
The Complete Guide to ETF Portfolio Management is the go-to guide for managing ETFs. One of today’s top global experts on the subject, Scott Weiner walks you through the life of an ETF—from launch to closure—from the perspective of a portfolio manager. Emphasizing pragmatism over theory, The Complete Guide to ETF Portfolio Management covers:
The ETF Industry—regulatory frameworks, the ETF ecosystem, and organizations driving the industry
Passive ETFs—the indexing process, including a hypothetical index used throughout the book to illustrate successful management methods
Launching an ETF—methods for seeding the fund at inception and how the primary market plays a critical role in portfolio management
Three T’s and Three C’s—how tracking error, transaction costs, taxes, cash, corporate actions, and custom in-kind baskets affect ETF portfolio management
Expanding the Product Set—international, actively managed, and fixed-income ETFs, and leveraged and inverse products
Navigating Volatility—winning methods for managing ETF though market turbulence and using representative sampling for hard-to-track indices
With The Complete Guide to ETF Portfolio Management, you have everything you need to launch and manage any ETF portfolio like a seasoned pro."
